Start brushing on the top of your mouth. Pick a side, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth

GROSSER WEEK! That’s right, we loved Gross Week SO MUCH that we decided to do a whole other week devoted to the grossest stuff we could find!

And to kick it off, we’ve got a quiz (SFX QUIZ) 

But first, switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth and keep brushing. 

Our quiz question is: How much SALIVA does the average person make in make in their mouth, in one day? Is it: 

25 ounces, or enough to fill a large water bottle (SFX trickle)

48 ounces, or enough to fill a big pitcher  (SFX pouring)

Or 128 ounces, about enough to fill a gallon of milk (SFX MOO)

To figure it out, lets learn a little more about saliva.

I'll tell you more, after your switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the molars in the way back too.

Saliva is the liquid that our mouths make. You might think it’s gross when it comes out as spit or drool but saliva is really important for keeping your mouth healthy

Saliva’s main job is to help you swallow your food, but it does so much more than that. It also keeps your teeth healthy by fighting bad bacteria, (SFX HIYAH) and sweeping away some of the gunk that might sit on your teeth. Plus, saliva is also helps your taste your food. (SFX YUM!)  

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush all the way around each tooth

So now that we know a little more about the spit, it’s time for you to take a guess. 

How much SALIVA does the average person’s mouth make in one day? Is it:
