Welcome back, it's time for more Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show!

Let's get brushing! Start on the top of your mouth on one side, and brush all the way back to the molars.

3, 2, 1 brush!

It’s Earth Week, and tonight we have more riddles about our beautiful blue planet.

Here’s your first one:

I’m a natural resource

You can’t get rid of me

Because unlike others

I replace myself quickly

What am I?

A Renewable resource!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, but don't brush too hard.

[Switch Bell]

Renewable resources are natural resources that technically SHOULDN’T run out. Animals and plants are renewable resources because new ones are born or grow all the time. So in a way they replace themselves.

Other natural resources like oil, soil, and gases are NOT renewable - they CAN run out.

That’s because they can take an AWFUL lot of time to form - like MILLIONS of years!

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing!

[Switch Bell]

Here’s another riddle:

I add up released gas

It’s keeping track of pollution

From CO2 to methane gas

Know this number to find a solution

What am I?

CARBON FOOTPRINT!

A carbon footprint is like… a  footprint you leave on muddy soil when you walk. Except a CARBON footprint is the mark you leave on the environment by releasing gases and pollution.

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

[Switch Bell]

Our carbon footprint is a way to keep track of the amount of pollution we release. So that we can be more thoughtful when we choose to use energy, and find a way to give back to the environment.

Kids: How?

By planting a tree! And saying no to plastic bags and yes to reusable canvas bags!

That's it for Chompers tonight, but come back tomorrow! Until then…
