>>RACHEL: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show. It’s Interviews Week! So all this week we are going back to listen to some of our favorite interviews with some super cool people.
Here’s an interview where our friend Jasmine talked with a SPECIAL GUEST about SPACE.
Jasmine take it away!
>>JASMINE: Thanks!
Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth!
3, 2, 1 Brush!
[MUSIC BEGINS]
>>JASMINE: Have you ever dreamed of what it would be like to drive a space shuttle? Victor had the same dream. Victor Glover is a Nasa Astronaut...
>>VICTOR: I always wanted to fly a spacecraft. When I was really young, I didn't know that that meant being an astronaut. But when I saw a space shuttle launch I thought I wanted to drive that thing. Then that became wanting to be an astronaut!
>>JASMINE: We got to ask Astronaut Victor some of your awesome questions about space!
[MUSIC ENDS]
>>JASMINE: Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and keep but don’t brush too hard.
[SWITCH BELL]
>>JASMINE: We have another question from a girl named Nora. She's 11 and she asked what's the best part about living on the international space station.
>>VICTOR: I have not lived on the space station yet so I will say I don't know yet. However I hear that two things come up often. Looking down on our planet without borders and signs and labels just to see the planet naturally and also being able to take some amazing pictures.
>>JASMINE: Switch to the bottom of your mouth and make little circles around each tooth!
>>JASMINE: So emmylou would like to know are there Martians on Mars.
>>VICTOR: We haven't found any Martians on Mars. I think in our lifetime we will get people to Mars. And if we get to the point that we live there. Once a person is born on Mars then you could call them a Martian just like I was born in California and people can say I'm a Californian.
>>JASMINE: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and don’t forget your front teeth.
>>JASMINE: So lots of kids wanted to know: Is it possible to live on another planet.
>>VICTOR: The answer to that is yes. Is it possible? But it is also very difficult. So for us to live on another planet we need to take lots of equipment that enable us to live. Our closest neighbour Mars is a place that we would have to take things that we would need to keep us alive.
[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>>JASMINE: That’s it for today, but tonight we’ll have more answers from Astronaut Victor Glover. Until then make sure to…
>>KIDS: 3, 2 1 spit!
[THEME SONG ENDS]
>>RACHEL: Chompers is a production of Gimlet Media.
