>> RACHEL: Hey there, it’s time for Chompers. Your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

It’s Feelings Week, and today we’re playing: WHAT’S THAT SOUND (SFX)

We’ll play a sound and you have to guess which feeling it goes with.. Here’s your first one:

SFX: CRY

What was that? Here it is one more time:

SFX: CRY

So what’s that sound about? How does this person feel?

>> GROUP:  Sad!

>> RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush all the way to the back.

Feeling sad - or sadness - isn’t a good feeling. Sometimes sad things happen. They can be painful or make us feel like our body is heavy. But there are some things we can do that might help with feeling sad. We can start with playing with a friend, dancing in our room baking with our grown-up (SFX yum), or riding a bike to go to watch the sunset! (SFX bike bell)

Remember, when sadness comes, it eventually will go away! Just like any feeling!

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth, too.

OK, here’s your next sound:

SFX Growl

What was that? Here it is one more time:

SFX Growl

So what’s that sound about? How does this person feel?

>> GROUP: FRUSTRATED!

>> RACHEL: Feeling frustrated - or frustration - is a bad feeling. We feel frustrated when we’re upset or annoyed (SFX)  because we can’t get or do something we want.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, but don’t brush too hard.

Some things are hard to do, or not always possible to get.  Making this sound (SFX) is one way to show your frustration, but it’s more helpful to use the word and say, “I’m frustrated.” That helps people understand what you’re feeling -- and once they understand that, they can give you a hand with what’s frustrating you!

Also! We’re more easily frustrated when we’re tired or hungry, so if we feel that frustration is coming, that might mean we need a snack (SFX bite) or a nap! (SFX snoring)

That’s it for Chompers tonight, make sure you-

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
