>> Rachel: Good morning, it’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show. Start brushing on the top of your mouth. Pick a side, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>> Rachel: It’s Money Week on Chompers and today we’re going to be solving some RIDDLES!
Here’s your first one:
If you have chores every day
Like feeding your dog or bunny
You might get this every week or month
This special kind of money.
What am I talking about?
>> GROUP: ALLOWANCE!
>> Rachel: An allowance.
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too
An allowance is money that grownups SOMETIMES give to kids. Some kids earn an allowance by doing extra chores, like mowing the lawn or taking out the trash.
If you earn an allowance think carefully about how you want to use it! You can spend all of the money as soon as you get it … or you can save all of it, so that you can buy something big later. You can also do both: save SOME of your money and spend some of it.
Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush in little circles around each tooth
Here’s another riddle:
I need a little extra money
But only for a little bit
I’ll ask my grownup to help me out
And then I will return it.
What am I talking about?
>> GROUP: A LOAN.
>> Rachel: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush those molars in the back too.
A LOAN is when someone gives you some money and then you pay them back later.
You know, like when you give your friend a toy and they bring it back? You are LOANING the toy to your friend!
If a grownup needs money, they might get a LOAN from a bank. They borrow some money from the bank, and pay it back over time…
That's it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more riddles. Until then
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
