>> RACHEL: Rise and shine, it's time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside, and chewing side of every tooth.

>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>> RACHEL: It’s Feelings Week, and today we’ve got some emotion-filled riddles for you.

Here’s your first one:

I’m one of the warm ones

Always looking out for someone else

I care about your feeling

Even though I don’t feel it myself

What is this riddle about? Shout it out!

>> GROUP: SYMPATHY!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush your molars in the back, too.

Sympathy is a feeling that you have when you see something has happened to someone else, and it makes you feel sad FOR them. You’re not sad about what happened to you, but you care that something bad happened to them!  So like, if I stub my toe ...

>> ZAC: OH no!!! You stubbed your toe?! That happened to me once and it hurts so much! I’m really sorry that happened to you! Do you want me to get you an ice pack?

>> RACHEL: Yeah, exactly, that’s sympathy Zac! But I didn't ACTUALLY stub my toe.

>> ZAC: Wait, you DIDN’T stub your toe?

>> RACHEL: [SFX BELL] Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth, too.

Here’s your next riddle:

I’m a good feeling

I feel the way you do

Whether it’s good or bad

I’m here to share with you

What is this riddle about?

>> GROUP: EMPATHY!

>> RACHEL: Sympathy is when you care about someone else’s feelings. Empathy is when you understand another person’s feelings so much that it’s as if you feel them too.

Switch to the other side of bottom of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

Empathy is the power of understanding other people’s feelings, you may have heard the phrase “Putting yourself in someone else's shoes”? (SFX Huh)

It doesn’t mean we take their shoes. It means we try to understand other people’s feelings as if we were feeling them yourself. So kind of like trying to imagine how it feels to walk in their shoes.

>> ZAC: Oh, so like when you stubbed your toe and I remembered how much it hurt when I stubbed MY toe!

>> RACHEL: I didn’t actually stub my toe it was just an example! But … yeah Zac!

Ok I feeeeeel like you’ve done a great job brushing this morning!. Come back tonight for more brushing. Until then,

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
