>>RACHEL: It’s School Week, and tonight we’re going back to school for more I Spies. I’ll describe someone who works at a school, and you have to try and guess who it is!
Ready for your first one?
I see a grown up in the front of a classroom. He’s at the chalkboard, writing out letters of the alphabet and saying them out loud with their class! A student has a question, and this grown up calls on the student, then answers the question.
Who is this person? Who do I Spy?
>>GROUP: A Teacher!
>>RACHEL: A teacher.
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and don’t forget the molars in the way back.
A teacher’s job is to TEACH students. Teachers make a plan for every day of school -- and it’s a lot of work.
[SIGH]
>>RACHEL: A big part of a teacher’s job is getting to know their students, so they can help students feel safe and ready to learn.
>>KID: YAY!
>>RACHEL: Every teacher wants the same thing; to make sure YOU succeed.
Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and brush your front teeth too.
Ready for your next I Spy?
I see another grown up in the hallway at school saying hello to all the students.
A teacher comes up to them with a question and this person helps them answer it. A student comes up with a question too, and this person helps answer that as well!
So, who is this grown up? Who do I spy?
>>GROUP: A Principal!
>>RACHEL: A Principal.
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and keep on brushing.
A Principal is the person who is in charge of an ENTIRE school. A lot of times we hear about going to the principal's office as a bad thing, because sometimes that's what happens when you get in trouble.
[DUN DUN DUN]
>>RACHEL: But a principal’s main job is to help your teachers, your counselor and even the nurse do their jobs well.
>>KID: OH!
[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: That’s all the time we have for Chomper’s today. Class dismissed!! Oh, but don’t forget to-
>>KIDS: 3-2-1 Spit!
