[THEME SONG BEGINS]

>> RACHEL:  Good evening, and welcome to Chompers! Your morning and night tooth brushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 BRUSH!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL:  It’s Body Systems week, and tonight we have more I Spies for you! Are you ready to play?

Here’s your first one:

[SOCCER FIELD AMBIANCE]

I see a bunch of soccer players hanging out on the grass eating a SNACK! The snack is in small wedges, that look juicy and delicious. The players all grab a few slices before hopping up and going back to their game.

What fruit are these players eating? What food do I spy?

>> GROUP: Oranges!

>> RACHEL:  Oranges!

>> KID: Yum!

>> RACHEL:  Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL:  -and keep brushing.

Lots of people eat oranges when they’re playing sports to help get more energy!

[ZOOM]

 >> RACHEL:  That energy is processed by our digestive system!

[BURP]

>> RACHEL: Healthy foods like oranges give us lots of energy because oranges are made up of things our bodies need.

>> KID: YAY!

>> RACHEL: Some foods give us more healthy energy than others. A cookie are fun, but a better snack after a game is an orange!

>> KID: Yum.

>> RACHEL:  Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL:  and don’t forget your molars in the way back.

Here’s your next I Spy:

I see a grandpa just starting his day.

[YAWN]

>> RACHEL: He pours himself a glass of milk...

[POUR]

>> RACHEL:  -and puts something small and colorful in his mouth. It looks like a pill, but I don’t think it’s medicine.

What did he eat? What do I see?

>> GROUP: A vitamin pill!

>> RACHEL:  A vitamin pill!

Vitamins aren’t just something you find in pills. Vitamins can be found in all kinds of foods, and they help keep our bodies healthy.

I'll tell you more after you switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and give your tongue a brush too.

Our bodies can’t make vitamins, so we get them from the foods that we eat!

>> KID: YUM!

>> RACHEL: Fish gives us Vitamin D and helps keep our skeletons strong. And oranges give us vitamin C and helps us fight off germs.

Some grown ups get extra vitamins from vitamin pills. Kids might, too, but only if your grown up says its ok.

[MUSIC ENDS]

[THEME SONG BEGINS]

And don’t forget to...
