[THEME SONG BEGINS]

>> RACHEL: Welcome back to Chompers! Your morning and night Tooth brushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 BRUSH!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: It’s Dinosaurs Week, and today we’re playing

[WHAT’S THAT SOUND THEME]

>> RACHEL: We don’t REALLY know what dinos sounded like, but it’s fun to imagine. So we will play a sound, and you use your imagination to try to match it to a dinosaur. Here we go!

[T-REX COO]

>> RACHEL: So, what dinosaur could that be?

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> Group: A T-Rex!

>> RACHEL: A T-Rex!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth...

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and brush your front teeth too.

Pictures of T-Rex might make it look like it had a great big scary roar, but scientists actually think the T-Rex might have sounded more like this.

[T-REX COO]

>> RACHEL: So it’s possible that the mighty T-Rex sounded more like a bird, or a modern-day crocodile than the roar we hear in movies and on TV.

[CARTOON DINO ROAR]

[MUSIC ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth...

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: but don’t brush too hard.

Alright, ready for your next sound?

[DINOSAUR GROAN]

>> RACHEL: So, what dinosaur could it be?

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> GROUP: A Parasaurolophus!

>> RACHEL: A Parasaurolophus!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth...

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and give your tongue a brush too.

The Parasaurolophus had a large bit of extra skin on top of its head called a “crest”. This crest looked almost like a fancy hat, and scientists think it was used to make this sound:

[DINOSAUR GROAN]

>> RACHEL: The Dino would make a sound, and because of its crest, the sound had extra room to bounce around in. So it was kind of like talking into a microphone!

[MUSIC ENDS]
