It’s Holidays week, and tonight we have more riddles for you to figure out. Here’s your first one:
Wave a flag for freedom!
Let’s have a holiday!
Light a firework and raise your voice
For every country’s birthday
What holiday is this? Shout it out!
Independence Day!
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush all the way to the molars in the back.
An Independence Day celebrates the day the country gained independence -- and became their own unique country! Countries all over the world have their own special day to celebrate their independence. In the US, July 4th is the day we celebrate uniting as one country, and every year Americans light up the sky with fireworks.
Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the front side and the backside of every tooth.
In Mexico, their Independence day is on September 16th. And they start celebrating the night before Mexicans gather to hear the President of Mexico give a traditional GRITO, a shout that sound like this.
Here’s your next riddle:
At midnight change the calendar
Another year is done
Make a resolution
To make next year lots of fun
What celebration is this?
NEW YEARS EVE!
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and don’t brush too hard.
Say goodbye to the old, and hello to the new! New Years Eve is a time when people all over the world think about their hopes for the year to come.
In some countries, like the United States, December 31st is the last day before a new year starts, so we call it New Years Eve. An eve is the day before something happens, so the night before Christmas is Christmas Eve.
That’s it for Chompers tonight, but come back tomorrow for more. Until then, 3, 2, 1 spit!
