[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: Welcome back to Chompers, your morning and night tooth brushing show. Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.
>> KIDS: 3-2-1 Brush!
[THEME SONG ENDS]
>>RACHEL: It’s Everybody Week, and tonight we’ve got more True/False for you! We’ll give you a fact about people, and if you think it’s true…
[DING]
>>RACHEL: Thumbs up. False?
[BUZZER]
>>RACHEL: Thumbs down.
Ready for your first one?
People with disabilities always need other people’s help.
[MUSIC BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: So, is this true or False?
The answer is: FALSE!
[BUZZER]
>>RACHEL: I’ll explain after your switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and don’t brush too hard.
Having a disability is a normal way that people are different, just like being tall or being short. If I can’t reach the top shelf of the fridge…
[GRUNTING]
>>RACHEL: -and my tall friend is nearby, I MIGHT ask them to help me. I might also use a ladder. I don’t HAVE to ask for help if I don’t want to. Someone who is disabled is no different, they may not ask for help because they might not need it. It’s always polite to ask someone if they need help before you try to help them.
[MUSIC ENDS]
>>RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and give your tongue a brush too.
Ready for your next true or false??
Ok, true or false. You can always see someone’s disability.
[MUSIC BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: So, what do you think? Is true or false? Can you always see someone’s disability?
The answer is… False!
[BUZZER]
>>RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and make little circles around each tooth.
Disabilities are not always something you can see. Some people have difficulty sitting still, and some people have trouble listening and learning. Some people have trouble reading. Some people have trouble hearing. There are all types of things about a person that you can’t know just by looking at them.
