[THEME SONG BEGINS]

>> RACHEL: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side and brush the inside, outside, and chewing side of each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: It’s WORLD RECORDS Week on Chompers!

And to start it off, we have a QUIZ for you!

[QUIZ THEME]

>> RACHEL: What’s the largest number of people who brushed their teeth together? Same time, same place.

[BRUSHING SOUNDS GROW LOUDER UNDER THE FOLLOWING:]

>> RACHEL: Is it 145 people...

23,615 people....

Or

400,546 people?

[BRUSHING SOUNDS END]

>> RACHEL: To figure it out, let’s learn more about world records!

But first, switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and keep brushing.

A world record is when one person, or a group of people, does something BIGGER, LONGER, GREATER, or BETTER than anyone else in the entire world!

>>KIDS: WOW!

>> RACHEL: But they can’t just say, “I did something BIGGER, LONGER, GREATER, or BETTER than anyone else.” To set a world record, they need proof! They need other people to watch them and RECOGNIZE that what they did is really a world record.

[APPLAUSE]

>> RACHEL: Switch to the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush the molars in the way back.

Only then can they say they hold the world record.

[CHEERING]

>> RACHEL: Until maybe.. someone else does even better than you!

>> KIDS: OH!

>> RACHEL: That means that this new person has BROKEN the world record! And is the new world record holder.

[CHEERING]

>> RACHEL: Most world records are registered in ONE book called the Guinness World Records books.

[BOOK PAGES FLIPPING]

>> RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush your front teeth too.

So now that we know a little more about world records, it’s time to make a choice.
