Transcript

[THEME SONG BEGINS]

[Yawn]

>> RACHEL: Is it time for bed?

>> KID: No!

>> RACHEL: Oh right, it is time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show. Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, but don't brush too hard.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: It’s Cooking Week on Chompers, and tonight we’ve cooked up a few more cooking riddles for ya. Let’s have a taste.

[SLURP]

>> RACHEL: I slice and dice your veggies

To bits both big and small.

Use me on a cutting board

So you can chop it all

What is this? Shout it out!

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> KID: A knife.

>> RACHEL: A knife.

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush in little circles around each tooth.

Knives are important part of cooking -- you couldn’t eat a whole watermelon — you need a knife to cut it up into pieces you can eat.

[CHOPPING]

>> RACHEL: But it’s important to be careful using knives, because they’re sharp and can be dangerous. So always make sure you always have a grownup around when you're in the kitchen.

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth...

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush the molars in the back too.

Here’s your next serving of riddles:

If you want some noodles

You can come get me

Turn my handle

And I’ll make you spaghetti

What kitchen tool am I?

[MUSIC IN]

>> KID:  A pasta maker

>> RACHEL: A pasta maker!  A pasta maker is what you use to turn pasta dough into spaghetti, or  fettuccini, or whatever kind of pasta you want.

I'll explain more after you switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and give your tongue a brush, too.

To make pasta from scratch, you mix up pasta dough and crank it through a PASTA MAKER

[CRANKING]

>> RACHEL: -a device that flattens it out into a big long sheet. From there you can cut and mold it into all kinds of fun shapes - strings like spaghetti, bowties, or even toothbrush shapes! When you’re cooking something yourself, you’re only limited by your own imagination.

[MUSIC OUT]

[THEME SONG BEGINS]

[RIMSHOT]

>> RACHEL: Until then, rinse with water before you-

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Chompers is a production of Gimlet Media.
