>> Rachel: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

It’s Jokes week on Chompers (SFX VROOM) and today it’s time to get you giggling – and brushing! Because we’ve got KNOCK KNOCK jokes for you!

So get your toothbrush ready. And start on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to get the teeth all the way in the back.

Ready?

>> Kids: 3, 2,1 brush!

(SFX HONK HONK)

>> Rachel: Alright, here comes your first joke.

Knock knock.

>> KIDS: Who’s there?

>> Rachel: Submarine.

>> KIDS: Submarine who?

>> Rachel: Pardon? I couldn’t hear you, I was under water.

A SUBMARINE is a special type of boat that can go deep underwater. And the CREW of a submarine can live under the water for months at a time!

Many submarines are used by explorers and scientists to study the ocean and the animals that live far below the surface of the sea. (SFX BLOOP BLOOP)

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth. Keep brushing in those little circles.

Without submarines we would haven’t been able to see the very deepest parts of the ocean and the interesting animals that live there -- like the yeti crab -- an all white crab with long fuzzy legs. (SFX XYLOPHONE)

Submarines have also been used to explore the ruins of ancient shipwrecks and buried treasure.

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and make sure you’re brushing the front, back and chewing part of your teeth.

Have you heard of the Titanic? (SFX BELL) It’s a famous boat that sank a long time ago. When explorers wanted to look at the Titanic’s shipwreck, they used a SUBMARINE.

But if you’re underwater in a submarine, how can you see where you’re going?

Submarines have tools to help them see from underwater, like a PERISCOPE.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and make sure you’re not brushing too hard!

A PERISCOPE is a loooong tube that pokes up out of a submarine. (SFX BUBBLES POP) It lets the crew of the submarine see what’s going on on the surface of the water,  or even in the air, without having to take the sub out from under the waves.

Ready for another joke?

Knock knock.

>> KIDS: Who’s there?

>> Rachel: Annie

>> KIDS: Annie who?

>> Rachel: Annie body seen the keys to my submarine?

Ok, you’re done brushing for today!  Try out your new jokes and see if you can get some laughs!  We’ll have more knock knock jokes for you tonight … but don’t forget to

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
