Good morning, it’s time for Chompers: your morning and night toothbrushing show.

It’s Nature week, and today we’ve got some RIDDLES to work your brain.

But first, start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, but don’t brush too hard.

3, 2, 1 brush!

Here’s your first riddle:

Ice, snow and steam

or rain in thunderstorms

This gas, solid and liquid

Appears in many forms

What is it?

>> KIDS: WATER

When rain hits the ground, it doesn’t disappear -- it goes on to another step in the WATER CYCLE. The water cycle is all of water on earth is constantly moving around. I’ll explain more, after you

Switch your brushin to the other side of the top of your mouth.

The water cycle is the way all the water on earth moves around.

Clouds are full of water -- when they get really full, that water falls to the earth as PRECIPITATION. You may know precipitation as rain and snow!

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too.

But how does water get into the clouds? Well that’s through EVAPORATION. Water down here on Earth EVAPORATES when the sun heats it up on a hot day … and when water EVAPORATES, it heads up to the sky -- and it becomes WATER VAPOR in CLOUDS.

And then the cycle starts all over again!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth and keep brushing.

Here’s your next riddle:

Sailors, sharks and algae

Can all be found in me

I cover most of planet earth

And I am larger than a sea

What am I?

>> KIDS: The Ocean!

The ocean covers most of the earth’s surface, more than 70%! That means that if your ten fingers were the entire earth, the ocean would be seven of them, and only three of your fingers would be land!

That’s it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more Nature riddles. Until then - 3, 2, 1 spit!
