Say cello to even more music jokes on tonight's Chompers!

Where to Listen

>>Rachel: Welcome back. It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

It’s Music Week on Chompers, and tonight we have more lyrical larks to get you giggling.

Pick a side on the top of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>>Rachel: Here’s your first joke:

Why couldn’t the singer get into her house?

>> KIDS: Why?

>>Rachel: She had the wrong key!

(SFX Sad trombone)

In music, the KEY tells musicians HOW they should play the notes in a song. So a note can be NATURAL (SFX), SHARP (SFX) or FLAT (SFX).

It’s time to switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, (SFX SWITCH) but don’t brush too hard.

Here’s your next joke:

What does the string player say when he meets someone new?

A cello is a string instrument, like a violin, and it sounds like this:   The cello has a beautiful sound. A composer named Bach liked the cello so much he wrote this piece of music for it: (CELLO SUITE)

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, pick a side, and make sure to reach the molars in the way back.

Here’s your next joke:

What’s a bug’s favorite rock and roll band?

>> KID: I Don’t know.

>>Rachel: The Beatles

(Music cue)

The Beatles are one of the most famous bands of all time. They're from England, and the first time they came to the United States to play music, teenagers would would SCREAM and sometimes even faint because they were so excited to see them.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and don’t forget those front teeth.

Here’s one last joke to send you off:

What’s the key to having good rhythm?

(extremely long beat)

All right, all right, we’re done! Come back tomorrow for more of music week, and till then make sure to rinse and

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
