>> Rachel: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!

(SFX FLY Buzzing)

>> Rachel: Ugh how did a fly get in here?!

Oh right, I forgot! IT’S BUGS WEEK!

And to start this week, we’ve got a quiz for you!

(SFX QUIZ)

>> Rachel: Which of these BUGS do people EAT?

Is it ANTS

(SFX Crawling)

>> Rachel: CRICKETS

(SFX CHEEP CHEEP)

>> Rachel: Or Beetles

(SFX Wings)

>> Rachel: To figure it out, let’s learn more about these COOL crawlers! But first, switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, but don’t brush too hard.

(Switch Bell)

>> Rachel: Ok First up: ANTS

Ants may be small, but these little guys are some of the strongest bugs around. Some ants can carry up to FIFTY TIMES their weight. That's like a kid lifting a car!

(SFX BEEP BEEP)

>> Rachel: So do people EAT ANTS? Or maybe people crunch on CRICKETS

Crickets are known for their soothing songs, like this

(SFX cricket)

>> Rachel: But did you know that how fast they sing depends on the weather!

I’ll explain after you switch to the bottom of your mouth, and get the molars in the back.

(Switch Bell)

>> Rachel: Crickets are cold blooded animals.

Most cold blooded animals get sleepy when it’s cold outside, and crickets do too. And because they’re sleepy, they sing slower like this...cheep cheep) ... when it’s warm, they have more energy and they sing faster like this

(cheep cheep)

>> Rachel: So, do you think people eat crickets? Or do they eat BEETLES?

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush those front teeth too.

(Switch Bell)

>> Rachel: One of the most famous types of beetle is the DUNG beetle. DUNG beetles do a really important job: eating other animals’ POOP!

(SFX FART)

>> Rachel: Dung Beetles help break up poop and put useful nutrients back into the dirt.

So, which of these impressive insects do people eat? Is it Ants, Crickets or Beetles?

Come back to Chompers tonight to hear the answer, and until then…

>>KIDS: 3 , 2, 1 spit!!
