>> RACHEL: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to brush the inside, outside, and chewing side of each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3 - 2 - 1 BRUSH!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: It’s Senses Week. And today we’re gonna get you giggling with some senses jokes.

Here’s your first joke:

Why did the nose want to be just like the mouth?

>> KID: Why?

>> RACHEL: It had great taste!

[RIMSHOT AND LAUGHTER]

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> RACHEL: The mouth may have great taste, but it’s the tongue and its taste buds that give YOU your sense of taste!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and give your tongue a brush too.

[MUSIC ENDS]

Here’s another joke

Why didn’t anyone want to hang out with the nose?

>> KID: Why?

>> RACHEL: Because it smelled!

[RIMSHOT AND LAUGHTER]

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> RACHEL: Sometimes when we say something SMELLS, we mean that this thing smells bad, in other words - that this thing STINKS. But the nose doesn’t smell bad. The nose smells things around us. Those things are called SCENTS - whether they smell good or bad!

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and make sure you brush your front teeth too.

[MUSIC OUT]

>> RACHEL: Here’s one more joke:

Why did the whale love the apartment?

>> KIDS: Why?

>> RACHEL: Because it was in a great echolocation!

[RIMSHOT]

>> KID: HUH?

>> RACHEL: Ha… ha. It didn’t have a great LOCATION, it was in a great ECHO-location...

Get it? No?

Alright I’ll explain after you switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and make sure to brush the molars in the waaaay back.

[MUSIC BEGINS]

Whales use a sense called echolocation. They use this sense to know where things are, or what they are. That’s how they get around!

[WHALES ECHOLOCATION SOUND]

>> RACHEL: And to be clear, whales are way too big to live in an apartment. Whales live in the ocean…

[SPLASH]

>> RACHEL: -they migrate or move from one ocean to another because they like different temperatures of water for different times of the year.

[WHALE CALL]

[MUSIC ENDS]

[THEME SONG BEGINS]

>> RACHEL: That’s it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more nonsense jokes! Until then…

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Chompers is a production of Gimlet Media.
