[THEME SONG BEGINS]
>>RACHEL: Good morning! it’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show
Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.
>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
[THEME SONG ENDS]
>>RACHEL: It’s Teeth Week, and today we’re playing:
[WHAT’S THAT SOUND THEME]
>>RACHEL: We’ll play a sound that a dentist’s tool makes, and you have to guess which it is. Here’s your first one:
[METAL SCRAPING]
What was that? Here it is one more time:
[METAL SCRAPING]
So what’s that sound? Shout it out.
[MUSIC BEGINS]
>>KID: A DENTAL CURETTE!
>>RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: -and brush all the way to the back.
A dental curette kinda looks like a hook. Dentists use it to clean plaque from your teeth. Even if you brush your teeth twice a day, and even if you floss, you miss some spots that are difficult to reach --- spots that only a dentist with a dental curette can reach!
Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: and brush your front teeth, too.
OK, here’s your next sound:
[ELECTRIC SPINNING]
>>RACHEL: What was that? Here it is one more time:
[ELECTRIC SPINNING]
>>RACHEL: So what’s that sound? Shout it out!
[MUSIC BEGINS]
>>KID: A POLISHER!
>>RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…
[SWITCH BELL]
>>RACHEL: but don’t brush too hard.
After your dentist cleans your teeth with a curette, they might use a polisher…
[ELECTRIC SPINNING]
>>RACHEL: to make your teeth look as white and shiny as baby teeth.
[TADA!]
>>RACHEL: A polisher kinda looks like a tiny piece of rubber. And it makes this sound…
[ELECTRIC SPINNING]
because it’s electric and moves in circles on your teeth. Just like when you brush with your toothbrush!
Speaking of which..
[MUSIC ENDS]
[THEME SONG BEGINS]
You’re all done brushing for today. Come back tonight for more What's That Sound. Until then…
>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
