>> RACHEL: Rise and shine, it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show. 


Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth. 


>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 BRUSH!


>> RACHEL: We are buzzing like a bolt of electricity-


[ELECTRICITY BUZZING]


>> RACHEL: -with excitement over this week’s new theme: SCIENCE! 


And to kick us off, we have a QUIZ.


[QUIZ THEME] 


>> RACHEL: Long ago, milk sometimes made people sick. We want to know, which famous scientist made milk SAFER to drink?

Louis Pasteur...


[FROG CROAK]


>> RACHEL: Ada Lovelace...


[COMPUTER BEEPS]


>> RACHEL: Or Isaac Newton?

>> RACHEL: To figure it out, let’s learn more about these science smarties. But first, switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush the molars in the way back.

>> RACHEL: First up: Louis Pasteur. Louis Pasteur was BIOLOGIST. BIOLOGISTS study living things, like animals and plants…


 [FROG CROAK]


>> RACHEL: and Pasteur's favorite living things to study were tiny BACTERIA. 


So do you think it was Louis Pasteur the person who made milk safer to drink?

 

Or was it ADA LOVELACE? 


[COMPUTER BEEPS]



>> RACHEL: Switch to the bottom of your mouth…

>> RACHEL: -and brush your front teeth too. 


Lovelace was a brilliant mathematician. Mathematicians are people who study MATH, and Lovelace is famous for her ALGORITHMS. 


ALGORITHMS tell computers what to do.


[COMPUTER BEEPS] 


>> RACHEL: Lovelace was one of the first people to make an ALGORITHM for a computer.


So did ADA LOVELACE make milk safer to drink? Or was it Isaac Newton? 


Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too.

Newton was a famous physicist that means he studied the way things move: everything from big things, like planets, to small things, like an apple falling from a tree.
