>> Rachel: Welcome back! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show!
Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and don’t brush too hard.
>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>> Rachel: It’s Grosser Week, and tonight we’ve got some super gross true or false for you. I'll say something, and you have to decide if it's true (SFX) or false (SFX)
Here’s your first one:
Dust is full of bugs.
So is that true or false? Is dust full of bugs?
The answer is… TRUE (SFX) (SFX SILLY SCREAM)
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush those molars in the way back too.
You may have seen dust hanging out on your windows or under your bed. Maybe you've even seen a dust bunny (SFX BOINK BOINK BOINK), the big balls of dust and hair that can gather in corners. But dust is way more complicated that just the gray stuff we can see. Dust can be made of dirt, old dead skin, tiny hairs and pollen from plants. But the grossest thing that hangs out in dust has got to be DUST MITES! (SFX SCURRYING) Dust mites are tiny, tiny bugs that you can’t see, that live in dust, and eat all the old, dead skin that humans leave behind. (SFX YUCK)
Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and give your front teeth a brush too.
Here’s your next true or false:
The regal horned lizard can shoot boogers out of its eyes (SFX SPLAT)
So is that true? Is there a lizard that can shoot BOOGERS out of its eyes?
The answer is… FALSE. The regal horned lizard can't shoot boogers out of its eyes. It shoots BLOOD out of its eyes (SFX EWWW)
Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth and don't brush too hard
The regal horned lizard lives in the hot deserts like the ones in US states of Arizona, and Texas. To stay safe from predators, the lizards last trick is to shoot stinky blood out of its eyes and into the predator's mouth! (SFX YUCK) The bad taste makes the bigger animals say NO THANKS!
That's it for Chompers tonight, but we’ll be back tomorrow with more Gross Week. Until then,
