>> Rachel: Welcome back! It’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show.

It’s Chompions week, and tonight we’re talking about more of the wacky PETS you guys have at home.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth

>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>> Rachel: Tilly has 3 weird pets! And they’re all different kinds of cactus!

A cactus is a plant with prickly spines instead of leaves. Cacti are easy pets to take care of. They only really need sunlight and water -- and not even that much water!  They can live in really dry places.

Tilly says one of her cacti looks fluffy, another one is pink on top, and the other looks like a cactus you’d see in the desert (SFX).

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too!

Moving on to another prickly pet -- Evalee has a spiky animal called a HEDGEHOG.

Hedgehogs have prickly spines all over their body except on their legs, stomach and face.

Hedgehogs can grow up to 12 inches long, so the size of a ruler. They like to eat insects, mice, snails, lizards and frogs (SFX FROG).

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the molars in the way back (SFX)

Our next wacky pet comes from Idris and he has pet caterpillars. Caterpillars are like little worms that turn into butterflies!

When caterpillars grow up, they hide inside a chrysalis - a shell that covers its entire body. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar transforms, changing into a butterfly. When the chrysalis finally breaks open - the butterfly flies out!

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, but don’t brush too hard.

Here’s one more fun pet … it’s a desert tortoise! And this one is extra special because Lola’s desert tortoise has 3 legs instead of 4. Tortoises are like turtles, but they only live on land.  They generally have 4 legs, but Lola’s only has 3 … it’s named TRIPOD, which is the word for a camera stand that has 3 legs -- just like Lola’s tortoise!

That's it for Chompers. Thanks to all the Chompions who told us about their weird pets. All you have to do now is

>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 spit!
