>> Kids: 3,2,1 brush!
>> Rachel: Today we’ve got some deep sea riddles! Here’s your first one:
In kitchens they clean dishes
But deep under the ocean
This creature cleans the water
And moves in sloooow motion
What creature is this?
(Pause)
>> GROUP: A sea sponge!
>> Rachel: A sea sponge (SFX SQUISH)
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush the molars in the back too
Sea sponges may look pretty boring, but they do a super important job! Sea sponges are like a filtration system for the ocean. That means that they clean the water as it goes through their spongy bodies. Sea sponges kind of look like the sponges we use in our kitchens to clean things. Most sponges stay in one place their whole lives, but some sponges can move. But when they do, they move really, really slowly! They make turtles look super fast (sfx pew!)
Switch to the bottom of your mouth and brush in little circles around each tooth

This creature has no bones
Water is what it squirts
It looks kinda like a plastic bag
But with tentacles that can hurt

>> GROUP: A Jellyfish!
>> Rachel: A jellyfish! Jellyfish aren’t made of jelly, and they are also not fish! (SFX HUH) Jellyfish are invertebrates, that means they have no bones!
Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too
Jellyfish are invertebrate animals with no bones, no brains, and no heart. What they do have is one large mouth, that they use the move themselves through the water. Here’s how it works: Imagine a bottle of water that you squeeze to squirt water out (SFX SQUIRT) That's how jellyfish move through water, by using their mouths to squirt out water and push their body. (SFX)
