Welcome to Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show!
It’s gross week on Chompers (SFX SPLAT) so we’ve been learning about all sorts of slimy, stinky, sticky, icky GROSS stuff.
Today we’re giving you some RIDDLES! But first, Start on the top of your mouth and pick a side -- make sure to reach all the way back to your molars! You ready?
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1, brush!
(SFX BURP)
>> Rachel: Heres your first riddle:
When you’re having a picnic
My friends and I come near
And if you try to swat me
A buzz is what you’ll hear
What am I?
>> KIDS: Flies!
>> Rachel: Ugh flies! (SFX BUZZING) Flies are some of the grossest creatures out there. Not only do they carry lots of germs on their feet that can make humans sick but the way that flies eat is totally GROSS. (SFX GROSS)
Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and make circles with your brush over each tooth,
Flies can’t just bite into something because they don’t have teeth. So they have to drink their food.
Flies land on a piece of food and turn a tiny bit of it into liquid -- BY THROWING UP ON IT! (SFX EW)
Flies have chemicals in their stomachs that will turn food into a liquid when they PUKE on it. Once the food become a liquid, (SFX SLURP) the fly can drink it up! (SFX YUCK!)
Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and make sure you’re brushing the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

>> Rachel: Some people think that spiders are creepy crawlies but spiders are actually helpful to people
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth -- but don’t brush too hard!
Spiders are great at catching and eating insects that we think of as pests -- like FLIES! (SFX BUZZING)
Now before you go, I have one more riddle for you to think about today!
I’m heavier than a piano
With skin that’s thick and rough
I swim in African rivers
And only eat green stuff
