>> Rachel: (SFX alarm clock) Good morning! it’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show

Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>> Rachel: It’s Sounds week, and today we’re playing: WHAT’S THAT SOUND (SFX)

We’ll play a sound, and you have to guess what it is. Here’s your first one:

SFX: Bring Bring Bring

What was that? Here it is one more time:

SFX: Bring Bring Bring

So what’s that sound? Shout it out.

(3 second pause)

>> GROUP: An alarm clock.

>> Rachel: Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush all the way to the back.

Your alarm clock might have a different sound, like this (SFX), or this (SFX of another one, then another one into a cacophony) All right, all right! We got the idea!

An alarm clock is a normal clock that you can set up to make a sound at a certain time. You might use one when you want make sure that you wake up in time for school! Your grown-up might use their cell phone as their alarm clock.

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too.

We also use alarms to be ALERTED -- or reminded -- about other things. Like when you cook. Without an alarm, you might forget your veggies in the oven and they’ll burn to a crisp! (SFX fire alarm) Turn the oven off, that’s the smoke alarm! Oof!

OK, here’s your next sound:

SFX: Ding Ding Ding

Here it is one more time:

SFX: Ding Ding Ding

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, but don’t brush too hard.

So what’s that sound? Shout it out!

(3 second pause)

>> GROUP: A school bell

>> Rachel: School bells ring to tell us when activities begin and end. The first bell of the day tells you that it’s time to get to work! (SFX Yay) But you might prefer the bell that tells you that it’s time for lunch (SFXYum). The last bell of the day tells you that it’s the end of your school day! (SFX Yayyyy)

And that sound tells us you’re all done brushing or today. Come back tonight for more What's That Sound. Until then

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
