>> Rachel: Tonight we’re going to learn about eating a rainbow! But first...did you try a new veggie, or talk to a grown up about one?

On the count of three let’s hear what vegetable it was! One, two, three!

(TA DA SFX)

Awesome!

Let’s dive back in and find out more about the fruits and vegetables that help our bodies keep going strong.

Switch that brush to the other side of the top of your mouth. Make sure you brush all the way back so you get those molar teeth.

A way to make sure your body is getting all of the stuff it needs is to “eat a rainbow.” That means, eat fruits and veggies that are all different colors. Like a rainbow!

A vegetable’s color often tells you what kinds of vitamins it has.

Orange veggies, like carrots, often have lots of Vitamin A, which is good for your eyes.

Bright green broccoli has a lot of Vitamin C!

Orange carrots and bright green broccoli are all part of a healthy rainbow!

Time to move on to the bottom of your mouth! Pick a side and make sure to make those tiny brushes on all of your teeth.

Are you surprised to learn that vegetables come in so many colors? You might also be surprised to learn that not all fruits smell sweet. There’s one fruit that smells like rotten eggs (SFX EGG CRACK) and wet garbage (SFX YUCK).

It’s called DURIAN.

But even though it smells so bad - if you can get past the smell and try the fruit - DURIAN TASTES delicious. Like a mix between a mango and vanilla pudding!  Kind of like mango ice cream!

It’s time to brush that last section of your mouth -- on the bottom, on the other side.

It’s unusual that durian would smell gross and taste good, because your sense of smell (SFX SNIFF) plays a big part in what you TASTE. Your body uses what you smell in our nose to understand how something tastes on your tongue. Without your sense of smell, almost everything would taste the same. That’s why when you have a stuffy nose, it’s hard to taste anything at all.

Alright, you’re all set! Great job brushing today and get some good sleep, because tomorrow we’re back with a brand new episode of CHOMPERS! Now all you have to do is,

>>KIDS: 3, 2,1 spit!
