[WHAT’S THAT SOUND THEME]

>> RACHEL: I’m going to play a sound your body makes, and you have to try and guess what it is!

[STOMACH RUMBLE]

>> RACHEL: Do you know what sound this is? Shout it out!

[MUSIC BEGINS]

>> GROUP: A stomach rumble!

>> RACHEL: A stomach rumble!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and brush your molars in the way back.

When your stomach rumbles, or your tummy growls, it often means it’s time for food.

That sound comes from a part of our body called the INTESTINES.

The intestines are the part of the digestive system, which is the system that turns the food we eat into energy … and then poop!

That rumbling or growling sound is AIR moving around your intestines.

[STOMACH RUMBLE]

Switch your brushing to bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush your front teeth too.

Ready for your next sound?

[CHEWING]

>> RACHEL: Hmmm, let’s hear that again.

[CHEWING]

>> RACHEL: What sound is that?

>> GROUP: Chewing!

>> RACHEL: That’s right, it’s chewing!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: -and brush your tongue too.

Chewing is when we use our mouths to break up the food we eat, before we swallow. When we take a bite of something…

[BITE]

>> RACHEL: -we have to break it up into small pieces so we can swallow it. We break up the food with our teeth! That means our mouth, and our teeth, are both a part of our digestive system, even though they’re NOT in our tummies!

[MUSIC ENDS]
