>>RACHEL: Welcome back it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show. 


Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and brush those molars in the way back too. 


>>KIDS: 3, 2 1 brush!


[THEME SONG ENDS]


>>RACHEL: I hope you’re all warmed up, because its sports week, and tonight we have more I Spies to get you off to the races.


Here’s your first one: 


I see someone running...fast! They are carrying a long stick, and at the very last second, they stick the pole into the ground, and SPROING!!!!! They use the pole to jump up over a bar, soaring through the air before falling onto a squishy mat. 


What sport do I spy? Shout it out!


[MUSIC BEGINS]


>>GROUP: Pole Vault


>>RACHEL: POLE VAULT!


Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth…


[SWITCH BELL]


>>RACHEL: -and give your tongue a brush too


Pole vaulting is an Olympic sport. That means that every four years, when the Olympics happen, athletes from around the world compete to see who can soar the highest!


[BOING]


>>RACHEL: Pole vaulting is said to have started when people would use long poles, or sticks, to help them jump across streams and ponds. 


[SPLASH]


>>RACHEL: Pole vaulting is a “TRACK AND FIELD” sport … Most events in track and field have to do with running, jumping, and throwing.

>>RACHEL: but don't brush too hard


Here’s your next I SPY: 


I see a woman twirling in a circle. She’s holding a heavy metal ball up to her neck, and spinning in a circle and then suddenly … 


[WOOSH]


>>RACHEL: she throws it as hard as she can! 


What sport do I spy? Shout it out!


[MUSIC BEGINS]


>>GROUP: SHOT PUT!


>>RACHEL: SHOT PUT!


Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…


[SWITCH BELL]


>>RACHEL: -and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth. 


Shot put is another sport that is a part of Track and Field.  


If you do shot put, you’re called a “shot putter.” 


The metal ball is called the ”shot” And shot putters compete to see who can throw the “Shot” the furthest.
