>> Rachel: It’s time for Chompers your morning and night toothbrushing show.
Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!
>> Rachel: It’s Money Week (CACHING) and today we’ve got some true or false for you! If you think what we say is true, (SFX TRUE) thumbs up. If its false, (SFX FALSE) thumbs down.
Here's your first one:
Your money … can MAKE MORE MONEY.
So is this true? Do you think your money can make more money? Thumbs up for true, thumbs down for false.
switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush your molars in the way back too
The answer is…. TRUE!
Your money CAN make more money! But not by working a job, money can’t do that! … your money makes money through INTEREST.
>> Kids: huh?
>> Rachel: Remember how a LOAN is when you give someone money for a little while, and then they pay you back?
Well a lot of times when you loan money to someone, you charge them INTEREST. That’s a little extra money that they give you because you gave them the loan.
So if you grownup asks to borrow a dollar from you, tell them you’re going to charge them INTEREST so your money can make money!
Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too.
Here’s another true or false:
The only place to keep your money is under the mattress.
What do you think? Thumbs up if the only place for money is under your mattress, thumbs down if it’s not.
The answer is… FALSE!
Well … sort of. You can keep your money in lots of places. In a wallet, in the bank, under the mattress if you want to … or even in a jar!
>> Kids: WHAT?!
>> Rachel: I'll explain after you switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and don’t brush too hard.
One good way to keep your money is in four jars. Here’s how it works. Each jar is money that you’ll use for different things.
One jar is money that you can use whenever you want. (SFX COINS)
One jar is money that you want to use to do something nice for other people, like giving gifts. (SFX COINS)
One jar is money that you’re saving to buy something you want, like a new toy. (SFX COINS)
And one jar is money you’re saving to buy something REALLY big, like a bike! (SFX COINS)
That's it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more true or false. Until then,
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
