>> Rachel: Welcome back! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to get the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

>> KID: 3, 2, 1 Brush!

(SFX)

>> Rachel: It’s Space Week on Chompers, and today we’re playing I Spy! I’ll describe an object that I Spy, and you have to shout out what it is!

We flew away from the sun and found a bright red planet, with a dusty surface … and a robot on it!

What do I spy? Shout it out!

(PAUSE)

>> KID: Mars!

>> Rachel: I see Mars! Our neighbor in the solar system!

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth (SFX SWITCH) brushing in tiny circles all around each tooth.

That robot that we spied on the surface of Mars came from Earth! Its name is Curiosity, and NASA sent it from Earth to Mars to find out if there ever was, or could be, life on Mars. Curiosity is the size of a car, has six wheels, and a long robotic arm. Curiosity even has a camera, for taking selfies on Mars (SFX Camera)

Someday NASA hopes to send HUMANS to Mars too … maybe someday you’ll be able to take a selfie with Curiosity!

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, (SFX SWITCH) but don’t brush too hard.

Ready for your next I spy?

>> KIDS: YES!

>> Rachel: Floating through space, I see a bright light shooting past   . It looks like a ball of ice and dust, and behind it I see a long tail streaking through the sky.

What do I spy? Shout it out!

>> KID: A Comet!

>> Rachel: Yeah! A Comet! Scientists sometimes call comets “Dirty Snowballs” (SFX) because all the muck they’re made of is frozen in the cold of space.

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, (SFX SWITCH) and don’t forget those front teeth.

Here’s your last I Spy:

I’m looking up at the sky and see what looks like a giant soup spoon! (SFX SLURP) There are three bright stars that make the handle, (SFX) and four stars in a rectangle that look like the bowl. (SFX)

What do I spy? Shout it out!

(PAUSE)

>> KID: The Big Dipper!

>> Rachel: The Big Dipper is what we call a constellation. When you look up at the sky, and see the stars, you can connect them in your imagination.  The picture that you see in your imagination called a constellation.

I imagine you’re done brushing now! So come back tomorrow for more out of this world facts … and-
