>> Rachel: Hi, troop, it’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show. Start brushing on the top of your mouth. Pick a side, and brush the inside, outside, and chewing side of each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

>> Rachel: It's In Charge Week, and today we’ve got some riddles to puzzle your brain!

Here’s your first one:

I’m the head of a borough,

A town or a city

Working to keep it safe

And tidy and happy!

Who am I?

>> Group: A mayor!

>> Rachel: Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush, too.

A mayor is in charge of an entire city or town or borough, and its people! The mayor’s job is to do everything to make the place great and safe to live in. For example, the mayor might decide how to spend money on things like running buses (SFX horn); keeping the water clean and building roads, schools, or parks (SFX Construction work). A mayor is also in charge of making sure the police, fire department, and hospital work well. Oof. It’s a big job.

All right, time for you to switch to the bottom of your mouth and brush in little circles around each tooth.

Here’s your next riddle:

I’m the head of a troop,

An adventurous gang of scouts.

Keeping things fun and safe

Whether we’re inside or out!

Who am I?

>> Group: A scoutmaster!

>> Rachel: The scoutmaster is in charge of a scout troop.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush those molars in the back, too.

Have you ever heard of scout troops? Countries like the United States or Australia have a lot of them. Scouts go into the wilderness together to camp, hike (SFX boots) ! (SFX wow) The scout master is there to help teach kids those skills (SFX whistle), kind of like a coach or a counselor.

You did a good job brushing! Come back tonight for more Chompers. Until then

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
