[THEME SONG STARTS]

>> RACHEL: Good morning, and welcome to Chompers! Your morning and night tooth brushing show.

It’s Dinosaurs Week, and today we have some I Spies for you. We’re going to go back in time to go on a dinosaur safari. But first-

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 BRUSH!

>> RACHEL: OK, I’ll describe the dinosaur we see, and you have to try and guess what it’s called!

[JUNGLE SOUNDS START]

>> RACHEL: I see a dinosaur that is walking on all fours, happily munching on some grass.

[DINOSAUR SNORT]

>> RACHEL: It’s about the size of a school bus and has big wide scales that look like a shovel, sticking straight up, all the way down its back.

[DINOSAUR SNORT]

>> RACHEL: It’s got more spikes at the end of its tail too! So, what dinosaur is this? What do I spy?

[JUNGLE SOUNDS END]

[MUSIC STARTS]

>> GROUP: A Stegosaurus!

>> RACHEL: A Stegosaurus.

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush your front teeth too.

A stegosaurus is a type of dinosaur that lived 150 million years ago. A stegosaurus may have used the spikes on its tail to protect itself from larger dinosaurs, and the scales may have been used to keep the stego cool, by helping to catch a nice breeze on a hot day … kind of like how elephants today use their ears!

[ELEPHANT TRUMPET]

>> RACHEL: Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth, and brush your molars in the way back.

[MUSIC ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Ready for your next I SPY?

[JUNGLE SOUNDS BEGIN]

>> RACHEL: I see a dinosaur that’s running really fast on two legs.

[LEAFY FOOTSTEPS]

>> RACHEL: Its short front arms have 3 talons, which are like fingers but with super sharp claws.

[DINOSAUR GROAN]

>> RACHEL: This guy has a lot of sharp looking teeth!

What dinosaur is this? What do I spy?

[JUNGLE SOUNDS END]

[MUSIC STARTS]

>> GROUP: A velociraptor!

>> RACHEL: A velociraptor.

Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth,

[SWITCH BELL]

>> RACHEL: and give your tongue a brush too.

Velociraptors were a type of dinosaur that lived 75 million years ago in a part of the world that today is called the Gobi desert. Scientists think velociraptors could run almost 40 miles per hour, about as fast as a car!

[CAR HONK]

[MUSIC ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Also, did you know Velociraptors were the most musical dinosaurs? They loved to veloci-RAP!

[RECORD SCRATCH AND RIM SHOT]

[THEME MUSIC STARTS]

>> RACHEL: Just kidding there’s no way for us to know that.

That’s all the time we have for Chomper’s today, but come back tonight for another Dinosaur safari. Don’t forget to-

>> KIDS: 3-2-1 Spit

[THEME MUSIC ENDS]

>> RACHEL: Chompers is a production of Gimlet Media.
