It's time for another blast from the past with more HISTORICAL FIGURES!

Where to Listen

>> Rachel: Hey, it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show .. and we’ve got even more fascinating historical figures that YOU sent in to us.

But first, start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and make little circles with you brush around each tooth.

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush.

>> Rachel: Kennedy sent us our first historical figure … it’s dancer Alicia Alonso. Alicia Alonso is a ballerina from Cuba … and her beautiful dancing made her famous around the world. Alicia is Kennedy’s favorite because "Even after she became partially blind - that is she had trouble seeing - Alicia continued to dance to perform as a ballerina on stage.”

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, but don’t brush too hard.

Our next historical figure comes from Hallie and its Queen of the Nile, Cleopatra. Cleopatra was the leader of the ancient Egyptians, and became Queen when she was only 18 years old. Cleopatra spoke several languages, led Egypt’s armies, and even met with leaders from other lands like Julius Caesar.  Back then it wasn’t so common for a woman to do all these things .. and that’s why Hallie likes Cleopatra -- she was a fierce female leader!

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

Our next historical figure is Baseball player Jackie Robinson (SFX Baseball Crack). Andrew loves Jackie Robinson because he was the first African American to play in baseball’s major leagues.

Jackie Robinson is such an important person in baseball, that the major league honored him by saying NO OTHER baseball player can wear a uniform that the number 42 on it … the number that JACKIE wore.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and don’t forget your front teeth.

You’re almost done brushing, but before you go, we have a question for you. Kids, grown-ups are always asking you what you want to be when you grow up, but what QUESTIONS do you have about actually having a job? Grownups, submit the kids questions about jobs at Chompers.Dental and we might use them on an upcoming episode of Chompers.

That’s it for today, but come back tomorrow for more clean smiles and cool facts. Until then,
