Today's jokes on Chompers are purrrfect, don't you think?

Where to Listen

>> Rachel: Good morning, it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and brush the inside, outside, and chewing side of each tooth.

> >Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!

Rachel: We hope you’re not having a RUFF morning (SFX RIMSHOT DOG) because it’s Jokes week on Chompers and today we’ve got some purrrr-fect pet jokes! (SFX Meow)

Here's your first one:

What is a bunny rabbit’s favorite type of music?

Hip hop.

Bunnies are so famous for their hop hop hops, that there is even a dance called the bunny hop! (SFX CARTOON BOING)

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and brush the molars in the way back.

Here’s your next joke:

Why are snakes the funniest pets?

>> Kids: WHY?

Because they’re hisssssssssssterical

You might not think it's hisssss-terical, or funny, when a snake hisses at you. (SFX snake hiss). When a snake feels threatened or scared, it sticks out its tongue and makes that hissing sound. That’s the way a snake says “back it up buddy.” (SFX YIKES)

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and make little circles with your brush around each tooth

Here’s another joke:

What do you call a dog in the winter?

>> Kid: What?

>> Rachel: A chili dog.

You may think that your dog’s fur coat would keep them from being a chilly dog but dogs can get cold too!  (SFX BURR) Just like people, dogs shiver when they’re cold -- or when they’re scared or nervous.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing!

Ok one last joke before you go:

What’s a bird’s favorite part of Halloween?

>> Kids: What?

>> Rachel: TWick or TWEETING.

If you like to hear birds tweet, maybe you could take up bird watching! Bird watchers like to look for birds -- but they don’t just WATCH for birds. Sometimes they HEAR a bird before they see it!  Next time you’re outside, listen for this:

That’s a type of bird called a dove.  They can live in the wild, or as pets.  So if you hear this sound, you’re a bird watcher, and you’ve found a dove!

That’s it for Chompers today, but come back tonight for more pet-eriffic jokes! Until then…

>>Kids: 3, 2, 1 spit!
