>>RACHEL: Hey there! Let’s get toothbrushing because it’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

It’s Your Questions Week. So Jasmine is on the hunt to find answers to YOUR questions!

Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and brush the inside outside and chewing side

>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!

[THEME SONG ENDS]

>>JASMINE: Alright, let’s hear today’s question!

>>VIOLET: My name is Violet, I would like to know, how do people make apple cider?

>>JASMINE: Violet, thanks for asking such a yummy question! We asked our friend Brittany to answer it because she knows a lot about apples…

>>BRITTANY: Hi. I'm Brittany and I am so excited to be answering this question because I am from Michigan, which is a state that is known for its apples. Like we all in Michigan love apples so much. When I was growing up we used to do everything we could with apples in school. I learned how to make applesauce. I learned how to make apple butter. I learned how to make apple juice.

>>JASMINE: Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>>JASMINE: and don’t brush too hard.

>>BRITTANY: first of all you might be wondering what is apple cider?

Well apple cider is a liquid that is made from the juice from an apple and you can drink it and it tastes delicious.

>>JASMINE: and have made apple cider before?

>>BRITTANY: I've never made apple cider but I do know how to do it.

>>JASMINE: Switch to the bottom of your mouth…

[SWITCH BELL]

>>JASMINE: -and keep brushing.

>>BRITTANY: Ok so to make apple cider you start with 20 pounds of apples if you want to make one gallon of juice. Depending on how juicy the apples are. It's always better to use different types of apples to make the cider more tasty, but we always take out the bad apples and cut off the bad parts that we want to keep. Then next you crush the apples in a bucket until they're crushed down but no juice has come out yet.

And then after that you press the apples with a press machine.

>>JASMINE: Find out what a press machine is after you switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth.

[SWITCH BELL]

>>BRITTANY: So a press is a wheel that grinds the apples up into a pulp and then presses the juice out.

So after the apples go through the press machine what you're left with is just apple juice.

If you want to turn that into cider you have to let the juice sit but not too long and you leave it at a temperature that's not too hot but not too cold. At the end of that time. You can add a little bit of sugar if you want to and then voila, you got apple cider.

You can drink it with a lot of things but I like to drink it with hot donuts.

[THEME SONG BEGINS]

>>JASMINE: Hmmm sounds really good.  After a donut and sweet apple cider, don’t forget to brush your teeth with Chompers. Until next time…

>>KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
