>> Rachel: Welcome back, it's time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Start brushing on the top of your mouth on one side, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.

>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 brush!

It’s Jokes Week, and tonight we’ve got science jokes to get you giggling.

Here’s your first one:

Why can’t you trust the elements?

>> Kids: WHY?

>> Rachel: Because they make up everything!

(SFX RIMSHOT/LAUGH)

ELEMENTS are the building blocks that make up almost everything in our universe. In fact the same ELEMENTS that make up stars millions and billions of miles away are in your body!

>> KID: HUH?

>> Rachel: I'll explain after you switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, and but dont brush too hard.

Elements are kind of like Legos  Depending on how you put those building blocks together, you get different things.

Like if you put one OXYGEN with two HYDROGEN, you get water. (SFX) But if you put OXYGEN with an element called SILICON, you get sand.

Almost Everything in the whole UNIVERSE is made of the same building blocks, including farway stars … and YOU!

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing

Here’s your next joke:

Why was the thermometer afraid of the skyscraper?

>> Kids: Why?

>> Rachel: It was scared of faren-heits (SFX Rimshot/Laugh)

Fahrenheit one of the ways we measure temperature with a thermometer.

When doctors want to check if you have a fever they use a thermometer -- and the thermometer gives them your temperature in FAHRENHEIT.

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and brush in little circles around each tooth.

Here’s one last joke before you go:

Why did the two scientists fall in love?

>> Kids: Why?

>> Rachel: They had great chemistry (SFX Sad Trombone)

That’s it for Chompers tonight. You did a great job brushing. Come back tomorrow for more science week, and until then, rinse with water before you...

>> Kids: 3, 2, 1 spit.
