>> RACHEL: Welcome back! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show.
Start brushing on the top of your mouth, and brush the inside, outside and chewing side of each tooth.
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush!!
>> RACHEL: It’s Geography Week, and tonight we’ve got more I Spies for you.
Here’s your first one:
I’m in a place with biiiiig trees. There are plants everywhere, vines hanging down from the trees. It’s really hot and sticky here. I can hear birds all around me (SFX exotic bird call) and I think there’s a monkey up there too! (SFX monkey oo oo oo).
What place do I spy?
>> GROUP: The Amazon Rainforest!
>> RACHEL: The Amazon Rainforest!
Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth, and don’t forget the molars in the back.
Rainforest’s are called rainforests because.. You guessed it… they get A LOT of rain. And plants LOVE rain. (SFX thunderclap). That’s why there are so MANY types of plants grow in the Amazon! There are also some really unusual plants - like EPIPHYTES. (SFX HUH?) These are plants that don’t need any soil to grow! They grow on trees, and sometimes get their water right out of the air.
Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and give your tongue a brush too.
Here’s one last I Spy:
Wow, this place has an incredible view. It’s really high up (SFX wind whistle?) and I can see for miles and miles! (SFX ECHO EFFECT) But it’s COLD up here too. There’s some snow, and hardly any trees.
What place do I spy?
>> GROUP: Mount Everest
>> RACHEL: Mount Everest!
Switch your brushing to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, but don't brush too hard
Even though it’s not in the arctic, it’s really cold here on the top of Mount Everest. This is one of the very highest places you can stand on planet Earth! (SFX Twirl) It’s taller than 95 statues of liberty stacked one on top of the other! (SFX WOW) There can be snow all year round. That’s because it’s the higher you go up on the mountain, the colder it gets.
That’s it for Chompers tonight, but come back tomorrow for more jet setting around the world!
Until then, rinse before you
>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
